Position Summary: The 3D CAD Designer / Detailer will work under the guidance of the Design Manager to translate engineering concepts into detailed 3D models and 2D/3D fabrication and field installation drawings. This role is vital to supporting the fabrication and machining processes with accurate documentation, BOMs, and continuous design and workflow improvements.   The 3D CAD Designer / Detailer will work under the guidance of the Design Manager to translate engineering concepts into detailed 3D models and 2D/3D fabrication and field installation drawings. This role is vital to supporting the fabrication and machining processes with accurate documentation, BOMs, and continuous design and workflow improvements.

Your Role:

  • Create 3D models from general engineering drawings using Autodesk Inventor
  • Develop detailed 2D and 3D fabrication and installation drawings.
  • Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Material (BOMs) and purchase orders
  • Interpret and apply general engineering concepts and drawings
  • .
  • Troubleshoot issues and provide guidance on enhanced techniques or designs
  • Support fabrication with manufacturing drawing expertise
  • Support field install team with installation drawings
  • Organize and maintain design documentation.
  • Assist the Design Manager with various design tasks and ongoing projects.
  • Actively engage in design improvements
  • Contribute quality enhancements to workflows and design
  • Provide feedback to enhance product and process standards.
  • Review subcontractor fabrication models to ensure compliance with design intent.
  • Generate precise material takeoffs by leveraging and customizing Revit features.
  • Adapt to customer requirements, drawing from historical references.
  • Adapt to project coordination needs, by adjusting ductwork as needed, to facilitate the integration of other utilities and installations, ensuring optimal solutions.
  • Collaborate with project management, project engineering, and fellow designers to ensure quality and consistency.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience with parametric 3D modeling (Preferably Autodesk Inventor).
